With the U.S. new President in Office, people are wondering who Jasmine Crockett is. U. S. Representative, Jasmine Felecia Crockett, is making a difference on Capitol Hill. Crocket has been dedicated to serving underrepresented communities for nearly 20 years. She is the voice for minorities and she is not afraid of anyone.
Recently, the fierce, outspoken Congresswoman has been facing backlash for her remarks against Texas Governor Greg Abbott during the Human Rights Campaign Annual Dinner. Representative Crockett began her speech by saying, “Ya’ll pray for me because who knows what I’m going to end up saying.” She continued We in hot ass Texas streets, honey. Ya’ll know we have Governor Hot Wheels down there. The only thing hot about him is that he’s a hot mess.” The Republican Party especially Texas Representative Randy Weber, introduced a resolution to censor Crockett for her comments.
This wasn’t the first time Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett received backlash for standing up against modern-day white supremacy. She has walked out of one of President Trump’s speeches declaring, “He’s spewing all kinds of nonsense and bullshit.”
Congresswoman Crockett does not agree with any of President Trump’s new policies. Pres. In less than three months, Pres. Trump has cut federal spending, reduced the federal workforce, deported immigrants, and limited diversity, equality, and inclusion practices. All these policies directly affect minorities. Rep. Crockett has constantly questioned the Republican party’s merit in supporting a president who has been convicted of 34 felonies.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett has even fired verbal shots at President Trump’s new sidekick, Elon Musk. “All I want for my birthday is Elon Musk to be taken down,” says the devoted Congresswoman while adding it was a non-violent comment. White, republicans are not accustomed to someone like Crockett’s strong personality and I am here for every bit of it.
Although Congresswoman Crockett faces criticism and opposition to her stance on justice, many people support Rep. Crockett wholeheartedly including myself. There are lots of social media posts, hoping the Texas Representative will be elected president in 2028.
Background
The future President of the U.S. graduated from the University of Houston Law School. She worked as an assistant Public defender in Bowie County. In 2010, the lawmaker opened her own law firm, Crockett Law, PLLC. She practiced criminal justice, civil rights, and personal injury law. Rep. Crockett took on cases pro bono for Black Lives Matter. She has continuously dedicated her work to helping underserved communities and her passion has earned her a net worth of $9 million.
While Jasmine Crockett serves as a U.S. Representative from the 30th Congressional District, her main goals are voting rights, criminal justice reform, health care, education, and climate change.
